What is the difference between fuel filtration and fuel polishing? Fuel filtration (as the one that is fitted on your boat and engine) uses filters that remove free water (the water that accumulates at the bottom of the tank) and particle contamination (rust, dirt etc) to a certain size usually 30 micron for conventional diesel engines. HPCR diesel engines (High Pressure Common Rail) require higher levels of filtration usually 2 micron. Fuel polishing removes what fuel conventional fuel filtering is not usually capable of (emulsified water and microbial contamination, diesel bug). We use our own technology to efficiently clean all the contamination from your diesel fuel.

diesel fuel polishing

We have developed the most innovative 7 STAGES diesel fuel polishing service in the industry designed to leave your tanks free of water, debris and microbial contamination (also known as algae, diesel bug or diesel fungus). No other technology available today comes even close. We guarantee to remove all the debris, water and microbial contamination. leaving your diesel tank to as new condition in just a few hours.

STAGE 1: Ultrasonic, Vacupower or high pressure dislocation of sludge from the bottom and walls of the tank. (Good access to all baffled sections needed for best results)

STAGE 2: Sludge separation and cyclone filtration 25 micron.

STAGE 3: Centrifugal free water separation (water accumulated at the bottom of the tank usually has an acid PH of around 5.5 that will increase the corrosion rate of metal tanks).

STAGE 4: 10 micron particulate filtration.

STAGE 5: Emulsified water separation 10 micron (fuels can contain up to 15% water in emulsified state).

STAGE 6UV with proprietary wave lenght modulation and ultrasonic cell disruption exposure for effective kill of 100% microbial contamination.

STAGE 7: Optional fine 5 micron (optional 2, 1 and 0.5 micron for common rail engines) particulate filtration.

Prices for diesel polishing start at $1/Litre for running the fuel 3 times in the filtering equipment (for light to moderate contaminated fuel) or $1.5/Litre X 5 times in the machine for moderate to heavy contaminated fuel. Minimum 200 litres charged (if you have less fuel we will just run it more in the equipment). Optional 5 micron filtration (recommended for common rail engines) extra $0.35/Litre. The removal and disposal of waste is not included in price and varies with quantity and type of contamination. $165/hour labor is charged per hour base to base from our location in Cromer, NSW.

IMPORTANT: We recommend that after every diesel tank cleaning/diesel fuel polishing procedure you replace primary and secondary filters on your boat to ensure a 100% clean fuel system.
